Originally established in 1965, the institute was known by its French title Centre de formation Professionelles des cardes Technique (CENFOCAT). It then changed its name to Soviet-Cambodia Friendship Technical and Vocational Training Center in 1981 and became Preah Kossomak Polytechnika Institute in 2001. Preah Kossomak Polytechnika is a public institution that provides vocational training in technical and business skills. It is currently under the management of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training.
Preah Kossomak Polytechnic Institute, which is also known as the Higher Education Center for Vocational Education and Vocational Training, will be a leading effort in the TVET sector of Cambodia. To contribute more effectively and positively to the economic and social development of Cambodia through the production of competent techniques for industry and society as a whole through creative teaching.
